Mathematics M.Sc

The master’s degree programme in Mathematics provides students with the required specialist knowledge, skills and methods to tackle fundamental and challenging occupational issues and ensures that they can carry out academic work, critically assess the acquired knowledge and act in a responsible and interdisciplinary manner. In particular, students will develop a keen ability to think in an analytical, precise and logical way and learn how to identify abstract structures and ways in which they can be developed. An analysis of current research findings and an introduction to the student’s own research are integral parts of the degree programme. The master’s degree enables admission onto a doctoral programme.

The Master of Science (M. Sc.) in Mathematics is designed as a consecutive programme following on from the corresponding Bachelor of Science (B. Sc.). The completion of a corresponding bachelor’s degree is both a formal and a content-related requirement.
