Statistics for data science

The program does not have a curriculum. However, from the second year onward, students can customize their study plan based on their interests, choosing electives and free courses in economics, business, and finance.

Learning IT techniques and tools, combined with knowledge in the economic, financial, and business fields, provides students with the skills and abilities necessary for the effective and efficient use of information assets within companies, enabling them to:

(i) contribute to the construction, updating and management of databases;

(ii) strategically analyze not only corporate data but also contextual data in order to support, also through predictive models, the decision-making processes of institutions, companies and policy makers.

The program primarily aims to train statisticians and computer scientists, i.e., professionals with adequate knowledge of statistical methodology and basic data science tools, as well as practical skills for managing and analyzing large amounts of data to support decision-making processes. Furthermore, the solid methodological preparation and multidisciplinary nature of the knowledge acquired enable the training of statisticians capable of conducting analyses and studies in various application areas, such as socio-demographics and economics and business.
