• Earn a special distinction in statistics by maintaining a strong GPA in your mathematics courses and completing a thesis project under the supervision of a professor.

B.S. in Statistics

B.S. in Statistics is recommended for students who intend to pursue a career in a field that requires rigorous statistical training. The program is intended to equip students with a solid understanding of statistical concepts and methods, as well as practical skills to work with data. The students who complete this program with excellent grades are eligible may be eligible for graduation with Distinction in Statistics.

B.S. in Statistics coursework can be divided into two levels: preliminary (7 courses, 25 credits) and advanced (10 courses, 30 credits). The preliminary courses, which are the same for B.A. and B.S. degrees, include elementary statistics, calculus, and linear algebra. At the advanced level, students acquire deeper knowledge of probability and statistics. Half of advanced courses can be chosen from a list of electives based on a student’s interests.
