Theoretical and Practical Clinical Neuropsychology PG Diploma

The one‑year full‑time or two‑year part‑time Postgraduate Diploma in Theoretical and Practical Clinical Neuropsychology is delivered online with some on‑campus components and is designed for psychologists already enrolled in a DClinPsych at a UK university with a collaborative agreement with the University of Bristol. The curriculum includes four taught units — Issues in Clinical Neuropsychology, Theoretical Neuropsychology and Neuroscience Methods, Neurorehabilitation and Multidisciplinary Approaches, and Evidence‑Based Neuropsychology and Case Study — and requires a Clinical Practice Portfolio comprising six case reports, at least one of which may be drawn from the applicant’s DClinPsych training. Instruction is provided by practising clinicians, covering a range of neuropsychological disorders, assessment principles, formulation, and rehabilitation techniques, while students are expected to secure paid employment and supervision within a neuropsychology service to meet the practice component. The program aims to develop the knowledge and practice competencies required for entry to the BPS Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists, and it is delivered by the School of Psychological Sciences in partnership with North Bristol NHS Trust.
