The Bachelor of Science in Management & Technology (TUM-BWL) at the Technical University of Munich is an interdisciplinary program that combines management studies (approximately 70% of the curriculum) with a specialization in engineering, natural sciences, or life sciences (approximately 30%). Curriculum & Modules

The Bachelor in Management & Technology is structured across six semesters, beginning with foundational courses in management, mathematics, law, and economics during the first four semesters. Starting from the second semester, students begin their chosen technical specialization. Upper semesters offer elective modules, project studies with companies, and the Bachelor's thesis in the final semester.

Management Foundations

54 ECTS

Core business administration modules covering accounting, finance, marketing, operations, strategy, and organizational behavior, forming the backbone of the program's management component.

Economics

12 ECTS

Foundational courses in microeconomics and macroeconomics, providing students with an understanding of market dynamics, economic policy, and their impact on business decisions.

Law

12 ECTS

Introduction to business law and legal frameworks relevant to corporate governance, contracts, and regulatory compliance in national and international contexts.

Mathematics & Natural Sciences

Quantitative foundations including statistics, mathematics for business, and analytical methods essential for data-driven decision-making in management and technology.

Technical Specialization

In-depth study in one of six tracks: Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Informatics, Electrical and Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Medicine. Lectures begin in the second semester.

Project Studies & Bachelor's Thesis

24 ECTS

Hands-on project work at a company during the fourth or fifth semester (12 ECTS), supervised by TUM School of Management faculty, followed by a written Bachelor's thesis in the sixth semester (12 ECTS).
