Economics is a rapidly changing field, creating a high demand for experienced scholars and practitioners who can analyze and interpret economic data. The M.A. in economics at Syracuse University prepares you to support decision-making processes involving global markets and policy. With small class cohorts, you will have myriad opportunities to conduct research and customize this flexible program based on your unique areas of interest.
The M.A. degree requires 30 credits (10 classes) in economics, including five mandatory courses and five electives chosen in consultation with your advisor. Students will complete the following:
- 3 credits in microeconomic theory
- 3 credits in macroeconomic theory
- 6 credits of statistics and econometrics
- 3 credits of mathematical economics
