Program Schedule & Format
You can earn your M.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics at Seton Hill in 1.5 years. You will spend the first year taking online courses. Your last semester will be devoted to 40 hours per week of supervised experiential learning at various sites.
Supervised Experiential Learning Placement
Seton Hill’s Nutrition and Dietetics Program maintains relations with many acute care facilities, long-term care facilities, school districts, and other public and private health agencies and businesses. We will coordinate your placement in practical learning sites (within 100 miles of Seton Hill's Greensburg, Pa. campus) that will prepare you to become a registered dietitian nutritionist.
Assessed Prior Learning
Seton Hill's Nutrition and Dietetics Program participates in the assessed prior learning (APL) program recognized by the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics. The APL program is designed to grant supervised experiential learning credit based on the qualified applicant's previous work and/or volunteer experience. Students may apply for APL credit after official acceptance to the program. Forms and instructions will be available to students at that time. The Program Director will review APL applications and determine if any credit will be granted. Additional documentation or clarification may be requested. Calls, emails or letters will be sent to contact persons listed on the student's application.
