Curriculum and Modules

The Welsh and Music BA (Hons) offers a flexible modular structure that allows you to tailor your studies across both subject areas. You will engage with Welsh language, literature, and creative writing alongside music history, theory, performance, and composition. Tuition is mainly delivered through small group seminars, workshops, and individual tuition, with additional time spent on reading, listening, essay writing, rehearsing, and performing.

Music 1550–1850

An exploration of Western music from the Renaissance through the Classical period, examining key composers, styles, and cultural contexts that shaped musical development across three centuries.

Solo Performance

Welsh Language and Literature

Admission Requirements

Entry to the Welsh and Music BA (Hons) is based on UCAS tariff points from Level 3 qualifications, with specific subject requirements in both Music and Welsh. International candidates with equivalent school-leaving qualifications and college diplomas are welcome to apply through Uni4Edu. The ability to read staff notation is required for all Music courses.
