Program Overview
This BA (Hons) Primary Education with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) trains you as a primary teacher equipped to teach children aged 3 to 11 in Wales, the rest of the UK, and beyond. Delivered as part of the CaBan partnership between schools, Bangor University, the Regional Consortium GwE, and the research institute CIEREI, the program combines academic study with extensive practical school placements.
Students on this English-medium course are placed exclusively in English-medium schools, and you do not need to speak Welsh or live in Wales to apply. However, as part of the university's commitment to bilingualism, you will be supported in understanding Welsh culture and developing your Welsh language skills throughout the program.
You will develop a thorough understanding of how children learn and gain the skills needed to become a creative and innovative teacher who can make a real difference in young people's lives. School placements take place in a wide range of settings including urban and rural, mainstream and special schools, where experienced mentors support your progress toward QTS.
