Program Overview: English Language for Speech and Language Therapy
This English Language for Speech and Language Therapy degree has been developed specifically for those aiming for a future career in Speech and Language Therapy (SLT). While the degree does not lead to SLT certification upon graduation, it builds a strong foundation for further postgraduate study and subsequent certification as a speech language therapist.
You will become proficient in understanding how English works, why and how it is used, and where it has come from. You will also develop extensive knowledge of English linguistics and the areas of general linguistic theory that underpin study in this field, including grammatical structure, the history of English, dialects, social variation, and cultural aspects of language.
