As a broad discipline, this degree will give you a firm foundation in economics, accounting, financial management, marketing, organizational leadership, ethics, and more. You’ll be prepared to pursue a career in the public, private, or governmental sectors, or continue on to a specialized field through further education.
Business Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will apply knowledge of basic economic principles, marketing principles, communication, legal issues, operations management and statistics, accounting, management, leadership, information technology, nonprofit management principles, strategy and financial principles as they apply to the contemporary business and nonprofit environment.
- Students will identify ethical issues existing in the workplace and apply relevant ethical standards and frameworks for their prevention and/or resolution.
- Students will demonstrate professional business communication using different modalities.
Business Program Requirements
Major Requirements (BA)
Required semester hours
40 h major coursework
120 total h for graduation
Students are strongly encouraged to complete an internship (BSE 4970).
