Medical imaging facilitates the diagnosis and treatment of diseases by making the process easier, faster and healthier as well as providing enlightening information about the possible course of the disease. The operation of high-tech devices requires theoretical knowledge and experience.
In this respect, training qualified health staff, who can apply their scientific knowledge and communicative skills gained through their education at the department to all radiodiagnostic modalities (conventional and digital radiology, fluoroscopy, digital subtraction angiography, computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging) used by the physician in the diagnosis and treatment of the disease, as well as nuclear medicine (spect, pet, petct) and radiotherapy (simulator, linear accelerator, etc.) is of utmost importance.
Graduates of the Medical Imaging Techniques Program are given the title of "Medical Imaging Technician" along with an associate degree diploma. To practice the profession of medical imaging technician, at least an associate degree in Medical Imaging Techniques Program is required.
