Biological Sciences for the Environment

This three-year program (180 ECTS), jointly with the University of Catanzaro Magna Graecia and administered at the Department of Agriculture, covers microbiology, botany, and environmental genetics, with emphasis on Mediterranean ecosystems. Students participate in field surveys, lab analyses of soil and water quality, and GIS-based biodiversity mapping, fostering skills in pollution assessment and habitat restoration. The curriculum integrates forestry and plant sciences, preparing graduates to tackle issues like habitat loss and invasive species in Calabria's unique landscapes. Graduates are equipped for careers in environmental consulting, protected areas management, or further research in eco-restoration.
