The only program of its kind in New York City, LIU Pharmacy's M.S. in Pharmaceutics with Specialization in Cosmetic Science prepares students for careers in the consumer products industry, researching, developing, and testing new cosmetics, perfumes, toiletries, household products, and more. This STEM-designated program is housed within the Arnold and Marie Schwartz College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences at LIU Brooklyn.
The mission of the program is to uniquely prepare students for entry into the cosmetics industry and other related fields. Graduates are positioned to support research, development, and manufacturing operations in the areas of chemistry, cosmetic and dermatological formulations technology, product evaluations, and safety.
Students can choose between a non-thesis option (24 core credits plus 9 elective credits) and a thesis option (24 core credits, 6 research and thesis credits, and 3 elective credits). Both pathways require 33 credits and passing a comprehensive examination, ensuring graduates are thoroughly prepared for leadership roles in the cosmetics industry.
