20 CreditsBuilding on foundational text analysis skills, this module develops your ability to translate complex specialised texts across multiple professional domains, refining accuracy and stylistic appropriateness.
Translation Tools and the Translator
20 CreditsYou will learn to use internet resources effectively, employ proprietary software for professional translation and terminology management, and develop transferability skills to adapt to various desktop-based and cloud translation tools.
Translating for International Organisations
20 CreditsThis module focuses on translating institutional documents for organisations such as the United Nations and the European Union, developing the specialised skills required for institutional translation work.
Independent Translation Project
40 CreditsThis CIOL-accredited capstone module allows you to undertake a substantial independent translation project. Successful completion offers exemption from one unit of the CIOL Diploma in Translation (DipTrans).

Admission Requirements

Academic Requirements

- Work Experience RouteApplicants with substantial professional work experience in translation but no first degree will also be considered.
