Commercial and Legal Translator (Master)

The training aims to deepen students' language skills and enable them to acquire professional know-how and interpersonal skills to prepare them for the reality of the profession and the market.

With this in mind, the Master's degree offers professional courses, including:

• Translation into French of legal, economic and financial documents
• Computer-Assisted Translation (CAT)
• Project management
• Proofreading and editing
• Liaison interpretation

The specialized courses are taught by professional instructors (translator, reviser, project manager, interpreter and lawyer). The translations submitted to the students thus reflect the level of demand of the market.

During their Master's degree, students also carry out a tutored project , which consists of establishing initial contact with a translation agency or similar organization , in order to carry out translation/revision/terminology work in collaboration with professionals. This tutoring is a first step towards the end-of-study internship; it also aims to offer the student the opportunity to build a network.

The last semester of the training is devoted to the internship (5 to 6 months), in France or abroad , which gives rise to the writing of a dissertation. The missions are mainly focused on translation, revision and/or project management. As part of the dissertation, students must respond to a problem related to the profession and/or the translation market.
