Overview
The undergraduate program in English Translation and Interpreting is designed to provide students with a basic understanding of translation and interpreting as well as to help them gain expertise in their fields. The program includes courses covering the main types of translation and interpreting, areas of practice, and project work in common fields of study. Application and analysis in the field of translation and interpreting constitute an important part of the undergraduate program. Students are also offered elective courses in English literature, linguistics, foreign language teaching methods, social sciences, academic English, and other foreign languages. These courses aim to enable graduates to specialize in their fields as well as to continue their own self-development in different areas and to become intellectual world citizens. The undergraduate program prepares graduates for jobs in a variety of fields. Interpreting/translating in technical, literary, and social fields, media (TV and newspaper journalism), publishing, advertising, public relations, human resources, and English language teaching are among the fields that graduates can work in.
