Doctorate in Health Management

The vision of our program is to be one of the internationally leading PhD programs in Health Management.

Strengthening the health system requires determining and evaluating its performance, in addition to its basic functions such as the provision and financing of health services, as well as its intermediate goals, including equity in access and use of quality health services, and its final goals, which include improving the health level of the society, protection against financial risk and the efficiency of the system. Health policies also play a key role in this process. It is also a fact that social determinants have a strong impact on health. In order for our graduates to make maximum contribution to the strengthening of the multidimensional and complex health system as scholars, researchers, policy makers and leaders in health services organizations, it requires the development of the competence to reach and criticize interdisciplinary theoretical knowledge and to reach and evaluate new syntheses by conducting scientific research in line with ethical principles. 

The course plan of our program has been prepared in the light of these realities. In our course plan, in addition to the compulsory courses consisting of management and organizational theories, health policy analysis, health economics, scientific research and ethics, advanced research methods and seminar, there are also many elective courses that allow specialization. The elective course pool includes specific courses related to healthcare organizations management, health informatics, health policy and economics, and research methods. Our students can also take elective courses from other PhD programs within our University to develop their interdisciplinary perspectives.
