Overview
The Istinye University Department of Biomedical Engineering is a research-intensive, interdisciplinary department focused on producing joint technologies with medical and health sciences, basic sciences and other engineering fields to enable people to live healthier and higher quality lives by bringing innovative engineering approaches to existing problems in the field of health.
Our department aims to train biomedical engineers who have internalized the research culture, developed problem-solving skills, and are equipped with the necessary tools to apply these skills, and who can position themselves uniquely in both academia and industry.
Our department started its education and training activities in 2021. Our department, which started its education and training activities with 100% English as the language of instruction, is waiting for new candidates with an increasing number of students every year.
In the 4-year undergraduate program, our students are aimed to gain both theoretical and practical skills by taking common engineering courses such as physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer programming and computer-aided drawing, as well as courses in areas such as biology, physiology, electronics, software, mechanics and materials engineering required for biomedical engineering.
