Turkish Language and Literature

The Department of Turkish Language and Literature  aims to raise its graduates as individuals who strive to reach international scientific standards in their field, who have grasped the geography of Turkish culture through language and literature products, who speak Turkish correctly and beautifully, who have acquired the skills of critical thinking, reading and interpretation, who attach importance to research and development, and who have embraced the necessity of lifelong learning.

Career Opportunities

Graduates of the Turkish Language and Literature Department  have the opportunity to work in many different titles in public and private institutions. They can work as teachers in public and private schools (primarily high schools), as teachers in private courses such as private teaching institutions and TÖMER that teach Turkish to foreigners, as teachers in Ottoman Turkish, diction, etc. courses in municipal ISMEK courses, and as research assistants. They can also work as academics, magazine and newspaper managers and editors in press and broadcasting organizations, and in areas such as human resources and public relations.

Departments where horizontal transfer is possible

Our university accepts students for associate degree/undergraduate programs through horizontal transfer within the quota in accordance with the "Regulation on the Principles of Transfer Between Associate and Undergraduate Programs in Higher Education Institutions, Double Major, Minor and Inter-Institutional Credit Transfer".

Vertical Transferable Departments

All students who want to transfer to our department with Vertical Transfer are placed by ÖSYM if they take the Vertical Transfer Exam and get the required score. Students who meet all the requirements are thus entitled to receive a four-year undergraduate education at our school
