Curriculum and Modules

The MSc Forensic Psychology is comprised of seven compulsory modules and one elective, covering the full breadth of forensic psychological theory and practice. You will experience lectures, tutorials, computer lab classes, and workshops, with assessment through extended essays, research design coursework, examinations, oral presentations, and a dissertation based on a substantive research project.

Assessment and Intervention in Forensic Psychology

Covers the assessment and treatment of offenders, risk assessment methods, and interventions for offenders with mental health and personality disorders.

Investigative Psychology

Examines psychological issues in criminal investigations including eyewitness identification, investigative interviewing of witnesses and suspects, psychological profiling, and detecting deception.

Legal and Criminological Psychology

Explores legal and criminological concepts relevant to contemporary social issues, the criminal justice system, and the role of the expert witness in legal proceedings.

Research Methods in Forensic Psychology
