Biomedical Engineering (Master)
Topkapi Campus, Turkey
Overview
The biomedical engineering master's program was designed to meet the increasing need for expert engineers in the health field in our society. This need stems from the aging population and the desire to achieve cost efficiency by providing better care in the health system and by achieving more work with fewer people. Industry, government, hospitals and social insurance companies are looking for engineers with special training in the multidisciplinary domain of biomedical engineering. Biomedical engineers act as a bridge between medical specialists and technology specialists by understanding medical needs and translating them into engineering requirements. They also design medical devices and procedures that facilitate effective clinical applications.
Within the scope of the master's program, biomedical engineers will be trained to integrate basic medical knowledge with engineering sciences. This competence will be developed through assignments, practical exercises, interactive sessions, design projects and a master's thesis project. Upon graduation, biomedical engineers will be able to find employment opportunities in hospitals, research centers, government organizations and the medical device sector. In addition, the broad technological education they receive makes biomedical engineers attractive for various classical industrial sectors. It is also expected that some of the graduates will establish their own private businesses and transform their research into innovation.
