Midwifery Science

The birth of a child is a pivotal life event for the expectant mother and her family. Midwives specialize in providing comprehensive support throughout the life stages of pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. This profession is unique and involves responsible tasks in medical and psychosocial care.

The dual, primary-qualifying bachelor's degree program has been offered in Würzburg since the winter semester of 2022/2023. The program combines practical training and practical study phases in inpatient and outpatient settings with specific teaching. Its close integration with the Faculty of Medicine enables the import of teaching from key relevant disciplines.
