The programme is accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), meaning that upon successful graduation you will be eligible to apply for registration as a paramedic. Curriculum and Modules
The curriculum integrates theory, simulation, and practice learning across all three years, with clearly defined relationships within and across academic levels. You will complete five practice learning modules throughout the programme, ensuring strong alignment between classroom knowledge and clinical experience. A final-year dissertation allows you to explore a topic of professional interest in depth.
Introduces the core principles of paramedic care, including patient assessment, anatomy and physiology, and professional values underpinning emergency healthcare delivery.
Develops your understanding of human biology, pathophysiology, and pharmacology as they relate to the assessment and management of common medical and trauma conditions.
Builds practical clinical competence through simulation-based learning, covering essential emergency procedures, airway management, and trauma care techniques.
Provides supervised clinical experience across ambulance services, nursing homes, primary care emergency departments, paediatrics, and palliative care settings.
Focuses on advanced clinical decision-making for complex patient presentations, including mental health emergencies, obstetric emergencies, and multi-system trauma management.
