Chemistry

The two-year degree program offers three curricula:

- Analytics and the Environment

- Nanomaterials, Energy, and Modeling

- Organic, Biomolecular, and Synthetic

Chemistry. Students may choose a study path from those proposed by the Degree Program Council or develop a customized study plan.

The program is open to students with a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Sciences and Technologies (L27), and to graduates with other Bachelor's Degrees based on the criteria established in the academic regulations. Graduates will carry out activities promoting and developing scientific and technological innovation, as well as managing and designing technologies. Graduates will be able to hold positions of high responsibility in the fields of industry, environmental protection, healthcare, cultural heritage, and public administration. 46 credits (ECTS) are required for the final exam, which consists of a preliminary bibliographic research project (6 credits) and an experimental thesis project (40 credits). The thesis work may also be carried out at research laboratories of public or private institutions outside the University. A European Master's program called 'Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modelling' (TCCM - www.emtccm.org)

is also available , jointly organized by 41 associated European universities. The program requires a specific theoretical-computational curriculum and participation in an international school; furthermore, at least half of the thesis work must be carried out in a laboratory at a foreign associated university.
