Performance BA

The BA (Hons) Performance programme combines practical training with critical and theoretical study, enabling you to develop as a versatile and independent creative practitioner. You’ll gain experience across performance-making, community arts, and collaborative projects, preparing you for a wide range of creative careers. Real-world opportunities and industry-focused learning help you build confidence and professional skills.

In Year 1, you’ll explore the fundamentals of performance through modules such as reading performance, production aesthetics, and text-based practice, alongside performance histories and academic development. Year 2 expands your skills with a focus on creative processes, devised performance, theory, and cross-media collaboration, encouraging experimentation and critical reflection.

In Year 3, you’ll engage in more advanced work including performance research, creative festival projects, and applied theatre, with options such as digital performance and advanced practice to tailor your interests.

In Year 4, you’ll complete a Creative Research Project and dissertation, while developing skills in networking and promotion, preparing you to enter the professional performance and creative industries with a strong portfolio and industry awareness.
