Cyber Security

The programme focuses on developing your practical and hands-on skills to pursue a career in the growing field of cyber security. Taught in our purpose-built laboratory, the curriculum covers computer systems and network security, cyberattacks and defence, intrusion detection and prevention, data security, and network monitoring. These components are built on a strong foundation of knowledge in computer networks, both wired and wireless, using industry-standard systems. As part of your master’s degree, you will undertake an individual project that allows you to carry out substantive work on a topic of your interest, either at the University or, where possible, within a company. The course leverages strong industry links in its learning, teaching, and professional development, incorporating real-world learning through industry case studies, guest lecturer involvement, and supported industry projects.
