The MA Contemporary Curating programme explores the curation of compelling and relevant art exhibitions through both collaborative and independent methods.Ranging from the presentation of contemporary performance to the handling of historic objects, the course facilitates the application of practical skills across diverse art mediums.It equips candidates with the theoretical, research, and practical expertise necessary for global curatorial roles, featuring professional experience managing projects at the Winchester Gallery.With access to a vast network of artists and academics, the curriculum fosters the ability to curate research-based exhibitions, develop critical thinking to challenge audiences, and understand the nuances of contemporary culture.Practical workshops in object handling and exhibition installation are complemented by visits to galleries in Winchester and London to analyse different approaches.Set within a thriving artist community at the Winchester School of Art, the programme ensures the acquisition of essential professional experience regarding the logistical and practical requirements of the field.
