European Master of Science in Health and Physical Activity
Main Campus, Italy
The European Master of Science in Health and Physical Activity is an internationally coordinated program led by the University of Rome “Foro Italico”, in partnership with the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences (Norway), the University of Vienna (Austria), the University of Southern Denmark (Denmark), and the German Sport University Cologne (Germany). This joint degree program was created to promote the harmonization of European higher education systems and to strengthen academic collaboration and student mobility across Europe in the field of sport and health sciences.
The program is designed to meet the growing need for internationally trained professionals and researchers who can bridge the gap between movement sciences and health promotion. It provides students with the opportunity to study and train in multiple European countries, gaining a broad cultural and academic perspective while developing advanced competencies in sport sciences, preventive medicine, and rehabilitation.
The curriculum combines biomedical, psycho-pedagogical, and sociological studies with a strong scientific foundation in exercise and movement sciences. Students learn to design and apply physical activity programs for health maintenance, disease prevention, and functional recovery in people of all ages and physical conditions. The course places special emphasis on understanding how physical activity can be integrated into healthcare systems and community settings to improve overall quality of life.
Graduates of this European Master’s program emerge as highly qualified experts capable of working in international research, clinical, and organizational environments. They are equipped to lead health and physical activity initiatives, contribute to rehabilitation and wellness programs, and conduct scientific research aimed at promoting healthy living and active aging. The program not only enhances scientific and practical expertise but also fosters cultural exchange, professional mobility, and European cooperation in the field of health and sport sciences.
