Master’s degree program in Sports Management
Main Campus, Italy
Overview
The Master’s Degree in Sports Management at the University of Rome “Foro Italico” is an advanced program aimed at preparing highly qualified professionals capable of addressing the evolving challenges of the global sports industry. Building on the foundational knowledge acquired during a three-year Bachelor’s degree in sport sciences or related fields, this program integrates management, legal, and psycho-sociological disciplines to develop a comprehensive understanding of how sports organizations operate in today’s complex business environment.
The course is structured into two distinct curricula:
- Curriculum 1 – Management: focuses on strategic planning, marketing, economics, finance, and human resource management in the context of sports organizations. Students gain practical skills to lead sports clubs, federations, and events with an innovative and entrepreneurial approach.
- Curriculum 2 – Legal and Administrative Management: emphasizes the legal, regulatory, and administrative aspects of the sports sector, offering in-depth knowledge of sports law, contracts, public administration, and ethical governance.
Throughout the program, students explore how to manage sports facilities, promote sustainable development, design marketing campaigns, and apply new technologies in sports management. Case studies, research projects, and internships with sports institutions and enterprises allow for the practical application of theoretical concepts, fostering both leadership and innovation skills.
The overarching goal of the program is to train future sports managers who possess the analytical, ethical, and managerial competencies required to guide sports organizations effectively in an increasingly global and competitive market. Graduates emerge with the ability to anticipate changes, drive innovation, and contribute strategically to the development and success of sports at local, national, and international levels.
