This module explores global efforts to put triple well-being at the heart of education; integrating a care for self, care for others and care for the environment. Using an active learning approach it supports students working collaboratively together on a real life Sustainability Education initiative with a group of pupils from a local school and in partnership with a civic regeneration charity. The aim is for students to learn about pressing issues such as climate change, gender inequality, poverty and marine pollution but in a way that inspires all young learners to have active hope and make a difference. This participatory module also helps students to explore their own vision for leading education towards more compassionate and caring futures, informed by the UN Sustainable Development Goals framework. Participants on this module have the opportunity to use the University’s purpose-built Sustainability Hub as a new flexible learning space. So by using experiential, action-oriented learning methods, this module gives students the collaborative and creative space to work on service-learning projects that make a real difference locally.
