Overview
•• Learn the basics for the qualitative and quantitative understanding of biological and physiological phenomena.
• Apply knowledge of neuroanatomy and neurophysiology, electroencephalography, and electronics to neurophysiological investigations.
• Deepen knowledge of neurological pathology and child neuropsychiatry to apply them to neurophysiopathology techniques and functional exploration of the nervous system.
• Learn basic techniques and specific recording techniques to be applied to acute patients, patients in intensive care, and during surgical interventions.
• Learn the fundamentals of medical values and ethics, health law, management, and the legal and ethical aspects of the profession.
• Learn experimental electrophysiology and neurosonology techniques and basic knowledge of neurorehabilitation and the acquisition and analysis of signals using computerized systems.
These results will be achieved through mandatory attendance at lectures, seminars, exercises, internships, and optional courses. This knowledge and understanding will be assessed through exams, ongoing assessments, and aptitude tests for both theoretical courses and internships, as well as the final exam.
• Develop the professional skills required by the profile
• Correctly implement specific diagnostic methodologies (basic and activation electroencephalography; surface electroneuromyography and collaboration in invasive EMG tests; motor, acoustic, and visual somatosensory evoked potentials; sleep and autonomic nervous system polygraphy; collaboration in extracranial and intracranial Doppler ultrasound tests).
• Implement an instrumental diagnostic and neurophysiological research program in collaboration with the specialist doctor
• Draft a technical report
• Ascertain electrocerebral activity for clinical and/or legal purposes using instrumental diagnostic methods
• Prepare and control instrumentation and equipment
• Activate prevention measures to promote safety for patients, operators, and work environments
• Acquire IT skills useful for managing service information systems and for self-training.
These skills will be assessed through internship assessments, exams, and the final test.

The development of these skills will occur and be verified during internships, where encounters with different people, professionals, structures, and methodologies will facilitate the development of independent critical thinking. Equally important will be active participation in classes, preparation for exams and the final paper, and other opportunities for growth and assessment.
• Acquire the ability to conduct bibliographical research and update information, and the ability to critically read scientific articles, also derived from knowledge of a European Union language in addition to Italian, which allows for understanding international literature and updating knowledge;
• Summarize and report content acquired during the training course or by reading scientific texts and articles, even independently
; • Use correct and appropriate language when interacting with individuals of different ages, abilities, genders, and socio-cultural backgrounds
; • Involve and reassure users throughout all phases of diagnostic activity
; • Use technical terms appropriate to the various investigation methodologies
. All skills will be supported by the IT knowledge acquired in specific courses. Assessment will be through exams, including internship exams, and the final exam.

These skills will be developed and verified through preparation for exams, by attending the internship, in which theory is combined with laboratory practice, and with the critical use of the bibliography also for preparation of the final exam.
