Cyber Diplomacy MSc

The MSc Cyber Diplomacy blends technical know-how with legal knowledge and international relations. It includes five core modules: Security Management, which covers protecting information systems and managing risks; International Cyber-Conflict, exploring key concepts of cyber warfare and global security threats; IT & Internet Law, analysing legal rules governing digital communication worldwide; and Cyber Defence Diplomacy, providing specialized training in diplomatic strategies for cyber defence. Students finish with a Professional Life Dissertation to apply knowledge to real-world cybersecurity challenges. The programme bridges technical expertise with diplomatic strategy, preparing students to navigate the complex geopolitical landscape of cybersecurity at national and international levels. It offers in-depth training in cyber diplomacy, theory, and research in applied cyber defence management. The multi-disciplinary course develops a transformational mindset for advanced cyber diplomat practice and leadership. Students learn from experts in academia, government, military, diplomats, and NATO. It focuses on responding to operational needs of cyber diplomacy, including mechanisms, interactions with stakeholders, and building on frameworks for responsible state behaviour in cyberspace.
