Obuda University (Obudai Egyetem) is a practice-oriented public technical university located in Budapest, Hungary. With roots tracing back to 1879 when the Public Secondary Industrial School of Budapest was established, the institution has built a strong reputation for academic excellence and innovation in engineering, informatics, and applied sciences over more than 140 years.
The university was formally established in 2000 as Budapest Tech through the merger of three polytechnical institutes: Banki Donat Technical College, Kando Kalman Technical College, and the Light Industry Technical College. Having met all necessary requirements, the institution was promoted to full university status on 1 January 2010 under the name Obuda University.
Today, Obuda University offers competitive knowledge in engineering, informatics, science, economics, and teacher training across 7 faculties and 2 education centers, with 17 undergraduate and 11 master's programs. The university holds an ISO-standard quality certificate and has won Hungary's prestigious Higher Education Quality Award, and is a member of the European University Association (EUA).

For International Students
Non-EU students need a Hungarian D-type student visa. You will need your acceptance letter, proof of financial means (minimum EUR 600 per month), and valid health insurance. The International Education Office provides guidance throughout the process.
Student health insurance costs approximately EUR 120 per year and is mandatory for enrollment and residence permit. EU/EEA citizens can use a valid European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) for access to health services.
