History

The program is divided into a total of nine different specializations, allowing students to develop clearly defined profiles from the first semester. These specializations are as follows: General History, Ancient History, Medieval History, Historical Fundamental Sciences, Early Modern History and History of the Rhineland, Contemporary History, Eastern European History, Constitutional, Social and Economic History and Modern International History. Within their specializations, students can choose from a large range of courses, giving them a high degree of freedom in shaping their own profiles.

Possible lines of work:

Archiving, publishing, libraries, media (newspapers, trade/professional journals, publishing houses, radio, television, etc.), public relations/press work, teaching at schools, adult education, tourism, museums/cultural institutions, policy consulting, foreign service, academia (teaching/research at universities, research institutions, etc.)
