Learn and understand complex global issues you care about. The international relations degree program entails a rigorous—yet highly flexible—course of study, drawing on courses from across Maxwell's social science departments. You’ll have ample opportunity to study abroad, participate in internships through Maxwell-in-Washington, undertake research projects with faculty members, compete on the Model United Nations team, and so much more.

Program Overview

Through engaging coursework, you will learn to recognize global political, social and economic patterns and relationships; understand variations across cultures and institutions; and use research tools, analytical techniques and presentation skills to explain and interpret contemporary issues in international relations.

Requirements for the B.A. include 36 credit hours and proficiency in a modern second language:

• three required introductory courses
• three advanced courses in each of two concentrations
• two research methods courses
• senior seminar/capstone research project.
