If you are interested in other cultures, have a passion for learning languages and meeting diverse people, the English Studies Program at SWPS University may be the right choice for you. Prospective students should be able to speak English at the CEFR B2 or higher level and must provide appropriate English proficiency certificates. English Studies may also be attractive to candidates who have already completed another program of study and would like to expand their career opportunities by perfecting their language skills. TEFL specialization prepares students for a teaching profession in a variety of educational contexts, such as: different courses, tutoring, language schools, or in the longer perspective (of M.A. studies) public schools. Students become familiar with the theory and practice of TEFL also with the use of ICT based techniques. During teaching internships, under the guidance of a coordinator, students create their own European Portfolio for Student Teachers of Languages. This specialization allows students to unleash their creativity and linguistic skills in the context the dynamically evolving media and creative sectors. We focus on topics that combine language, culture, and modern media. Students explore various discourses of contemporary culture, master the use of creative language, and develop expert analytical skills in the area of language data analysis and visualization. Graduates are prepared for diverse roles in journalism, publishing, digital content creation, public relations, and careers in cultural institutions, leveraging their linguistic expertise to shape narratives and engage audiences in an ever-evolving globalized words. This specialization provides students with the linguistic and analytical tools essential for corporate success. They learn specialized business language, terminology management skills, and analytical capabilities. These skills enable seamless interactions in multilingual professional settings. Graduates of the program are prepared for careers in international business, marketing, human resources, corporate communications, and project management.
