 Faculty research projects, conferences, seminars, and colloquia sponsored by the Sociology Department provide numerous opportunities for you to actively engage in research, dialogues and debates relevant to the study of social systems in a world characterized by increasing global interaction. Our faculty are leaders in the field. Professor Michael Kimmel is one of the leading researchers and writers on men and masculinity, while Professor Kathleen Fallon’s research examines how empowering women in Sub-Saharan Africa improves the health of their children. Professor Jason Jones is exploring if Facebook can influence whether or not a person votes in federal elections.
