Practical Nursing Diploma at Saskatchewan Polytechnic

The Practical Nursing Diploma at Saskatchewan Polytechnic is a two-year program designed to prepare you for a rewarding career as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Offered across the Saskatoon, Regina, and Prince Albert campuses with online distance learning options, the program combines classroom theory, hands-on lab work, and clinical practice education to develop competent, confident nursing professionals.

This sequential six-semester program builds nursing concepts progressively, allowing you to apply your knowledge and skills in state-of-the-art labs and high-fidelity simulation centres. Each semester includes a clinical experience in diverse practice settings such as long-term care, rehabilitation, acute care, and community health environments, ensuring you gain real-world patient care experience throughout your studies.

The program meets the approval of the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Saskatchewan (CLPNS) and aligns with provincial and national standards set by the Canadian Council for Practical Nurse Regulators. Upon graduation, you are eligible to write the Canadian Practical Nurse Registration Exam (CPNRE), which is necessary to become licensed and practice as an LPN anywhere in Canada.
