Saskatchewan Polytechnic offers the only accredited Instrumentation Engineering Technology program in the province of Saskatchewan. This three-year diploma, delivered full-time at the Moose Jaw campus, combines five academic semesters with three paid Co-operative Education work terms, giving you both theoretical knowledge and hands-on industry experience.

Curriculum & Modules
The Instrumentation Engineering Technology diploma is structured across five academic semesters and three co-operative work terms over three years. The curriculum blends foundational science and mathematics with specialized instrumentation topics, supported by extensive hands-on laboratory sessions and real-world applied projects.
Study how complex control systems keep industries running smoothly and efficiently, including programmable logic controllers, distributed control systems, and advanced automation strategies used in modern industrial environments.
Learn to install, troubleshoot, and calibrate industrial instruments to ensure precise operations. Topics include pressure, temperature, level, and flow measurement technologies used across various industries.
Build foundational knowledge in mathematical topics applicable to engineering technologies, including formula manipulations, factoring of algebraic expressions, geometry, trigonometry, exponents, logarithms, functions, and calculus.
Gain fundamental understanding of electrical circuits and electronic components, including hands-on lab work to validate theoretical concepts, measure electrical quantities, and work with diode and transistor circuits.
Develop skills in computer-aided design and drafting as applied to instrumentation engineering, including reading and creating technical drawings, schematics, and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
