Public Policy MRes
Mile End Campus (Main), United Kingdom
The MRes in Public Policy offers advanced training in policy analysis and research methods for students aiming at academic, civil service, or private sector careers. Over four compulsory modules and a 12,000‑word dissertation, participants examine how policy decisions are made, the role of evidence, and comparative approaches across developed and developing contexts. The curriculum integrates theoretical frameworks, quantitative and qualitative techniques, and evaluation practices, supported by expert faculty and external practitioners. Students gain the ability to design, conduct, and critically assess policy research, preparing them for PhD study or professional roles in policy development. The programme draws on expertise from the School of Politics and International Relations, offering seminars, workshops, and access to the Mile End Institute’s policy events, ensuring students engage with real‑world policy challenges and cutting‑edge scholarship.
