MA Global Development offers a critical analysis of development theories and practices spanning the Global North and South. Core modules include Research Design and Methods and Rethinking Global Development, complemented by optional modules such as Evaluation and Delivery in Public Policy, War and International Security, Globalisation and the International Political Economy of Development, and International Organisations. The programme requires a 12,000‑word dissertation supervised by Human Geography specialists, developing advanced research competencies and fieldwork experience. Instruction combines lectures, seminars, and individualized supervision, with access to dedicated Masters study spaces, specialised software, and extensive library resources including the Graduate Centre. Emphasis is placed on interdisciplinary methods integrating economic geography, political economy, labour studies, and social justice.
