Aerospace Engineering (with Industrial Experience) (Hons)
Mile End Campus (Main), United Kingdom
Overview
Our Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) accredited course equips you to be part of an industry leading the way in cutting-edge advancements - impacting sectors like transport, space exploration and renewable energy. As the first UK university to offer a degree in this field in 1907, we bring over a century of expertise to help you develop your skills in our world-class facilities. Our state-of-the-art aero lab features wind tunnels, a flight simulator, an anechoic chamber, and a jet engine simulator - giving you hands-on experience to propel your career forward. Our academic team are experts in all four areas of the field: aerodynamics, propulsion and power, aerostructures, and systems. We also bring in guest speakers from organisations such as Airbus and Altair Engineering. You’ll hear about specific issues, from the effect of pandemics on aviation to modern energy challenges. You'll even have the opportunity to analyse data on a real plane flight - thanks to our links with the National Flying Laboratory Centre. You’ll start exploring your options and growing your network throughout the course. Our Industrial Liaison Forum day is a chance to impress potential employers as you present your project findings. Aviation, defence programmes or space – where will you apply your skills when you graduate? Our Aerospace Engineering programmes have been accredited by the Royal Aeronautical Society (RAES) and Institution of Mechanical Engineers under licence from the UK regulator, the Engineering Council. An accredited degree will provide you with some or all of the underpinning knowledge, understanding and skills for eventual registration as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng) or Chartered Engineer (CEng). Our BEng programmes meet the academic requirements for IEng registration (RAES) and partially meet the academic requirements for Chartered Engineer registration (IMechE). Our MEng programmes fully meet the academic requirements for CEng registration (RAES and IMechE).
