Originally named Europäische Betriebswirtschafts-Akademie (eba), the institution was renamed Munich Business School in 2003 and became the first private university in Bavaria to receive state accreditation in 1999.

Non-EU students require a student visa. MBS provides a visa invitation letter upon receipt of your signed study contract and passport copy. After arrival, you must apply for a residence permit at Munich's immigration office.
