The Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) at the Medical University of Gdansk is an integrated 5.5-year program that prepares you for a career as a registered pharmacist. Delivered entirely in English, the program covers the science behind drug discovery, development, and delivery, along with how patients respond to the medicines they take.
The 11-semester program includes six months of pre-registration training in an approved pharmacy, leading to the degree of Master of Pharmacy and eligibility for pharmacist registration in Poland. This Polish registration is recognized across other EU member states, opening doors to professional practice throughout Europe.
The Faculty of Pharmacy at MUG was established in 1945 and has been recognized by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education as a leader among pharmacy faculties in Poland. The Faculty holds the prestigious A+ category in science achievements and consists of 16 departments and labs, a Medicinal Plant Garden, and one of the most modern Training Pharmacies in Poland.

Curriculum & Modules
The Master of Pharmacy curriculum is structured across 11 semesters, beginning with foundational sciences and progressively advancing into specialized pharmaceutical disciplines. The program balances theoretical knowledge with hands-on laboratory work and clinical training, culminating in a comprehensive six-month pharmacy placement.
Covers the essential building blocks of pharmacy education including Biology and Genetics, Mathematics, Physics, and an introduction to the History of Pharmacy. These foundational courses prepare you for advanced pharmaceutical studies.
Explores the chemical basis of drug design and development, alongside the study of natural drug sources through Pharmacognosy. Includes coursework in Immunology and an introduction to Emergency Medicine and Medical Ethics.
Focuses on how drugs move through the body via Pharmacokinetics and the study of harmful effects of substances through Toxicology. Additional topics include Bromatology, Natural Drugs, Oncology, and Medical Devices.
Covers the mechanisms of drug action, therapeutic applications, and modern drug delivery systems. Students gain a deep understanding of how medications interact with biological systems to produce therapeutic effects.
Addresses the regulatory and professional framework of pharmacy practice including Scientific Research Methodology, Pharmaceutical Law, Economics and Management in Pharmacy, Pharmacy Practice, and Pharmaceutical Care.
