Curriculum & Modules

The MMT curriculum is structured across five major building blocks: Management, Management and Digital Technologies, Digital Technologies, Electives, and the Master's Thesis. Each semester accounts for 30 ECTS credit points, totaling 120 ECTS over four semesters, with a blend of core modules, interdisciplinary project courses, and flexible electives from both business and informatics faculties.

Management and Digital Technologies I: Digital Innovation

12 ECTS

This interdisciplinary core module explores the innovative and competitive use of digital technologies in established businesses and the development of digital startups. Students examine digital transformation strategies through case studies and collaborative exercises.

Management I: Electronic Markets

6 ECTS

This module addresses digital technologies from a business perspective, covering the economics and strategic dynamics of electronic markets, platform business models, and digital commerce ecosystems.

Management II: AI for Managers

6 ECTS

Students gain a managerial understanding of artificial intelligence applications in business, learning to evaluate AI opportunities, assess risks, and make strategic decisions about AI adoption in organizations.

Management and Digital Technologies II: Software Development Project

12 ECTS

A highly interactive project course conducted in collaboration with industry partners where students integrate business and informatics knowledge to develop software solutions for real-world digital challenges.

Management and Digital Technologies III: Business Project

12 ECTS

This capstone project module requires students to work on comprehensive business projects that address digital transformation challenges, applying both management and technology competencies in a practical setting.

Master's Thesis

Students write their master's thesis on a relevant topic at an institute of the Munich School of Management or the Institute of Computer Science, demonstrating their ability to conduct independent research at the intersection of management and digital technologies.

Admission Requirements

The MMT program follows a competitive selection process that includes an application review, a written examination, and an oral group interview.   • Bachelor's DegreeA completed Bachelor's degree (minimum 180 ECTS) in Business Administration or a related field with at least 20 ECTS in Informatics, OR in Informatics or a related field with at least 20 ECTS in Business Administration
  • Minimum GradeGrade of 2.3 or better according to the German grading system (equivalent to a strong upper second class or B+)
  • Selection ProcessTwo-day online assessment event including a written examination (business and informatics) and a one-hour oral group interview with professors
  • Essay AssignmentA written essay submitted as part of the online application to assess skills and knowledge relevant to the MMT program
  • Basics in Programming (Optional)Applicants lacking Informatics credits may complete the MMT-specific Basics in Programming (BiP) online course to earn 6 ECTS toward the Informatics minor requirement
