MS Data Analytics & Strategic Business Intelligence

The Master of Science in Data Analytics (MDA) at the School of Business, LIU Brooklyn, is a 30-credit, specialized graduate program designed to meet the growing industry demand for professionals who possess a strong combination of data science expertise, information technology skills, and solid business acumen. This interdisciplinary program equips students with the tools to analyze, interpret, and leverage data as a strategic asset for informed decision-making in a wide range of industries.

The MDA curriculum blends foundational courses in data science, statistics, and IT with advanced business-focused classes that emphasize practical applications of analytics in real-world business environments. Students learn how to use cutting-edge analytical methods, data mining techniques, and predictive modeling to extract actionable insights from complex datasets. Emphasis is also placed on data management, visualization, and ethical considerations in data usage.

Designed for recent graduates as well as early to mid-career professionals, the program requires students to have basic quantitative and IT skills, either from prior academic coursework or professional experience. The program fosters critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to help students become effective data-literate managers and data scientists capable of driving business growth and innovation.

Importantly, the MDA program is designated as a STEM degree, which enables eligible international students to apply for a 24-month Optional Practical Training (OPT) extension beyond their initial post-completion OPT period, providing valuable additional work experience in the United States.
