Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation (Thesis)

The World Confederation of Physiotherapy (WCPT) includes the national Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation professional organizations of 106 member countries, including Türkiye. In the strategic planning presentation of WCPT, it was emphasized that physiotherapy professionals can work on primary health care, neuromusculoskeletal diagnosis, treatment and prevention strategies and thus play a more active role in the health systems of their countries. Postgraduate education has become necessary in order to develop the knowledge and skills of physiotherapists with undergraduate education, to increase evidence-based research activities in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation, to take steps towards specialization in the profession and to advance physiotherapy and rehabilitation education in Türkiye to an internationally accepted level. In addition, in order to plan the future of our country's health education policies, the lack of quality and competent undergraduate Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation education as well as the insufficient number of academicians and specialized physiotherapists has brought the need for postgraduate education programs to the agenda. Our aim is to train physiotherapists who represent our profession, our university and our country at national and international levels, who have developed lifelong learning and teaching skills, who are respectful of human and patient rights, who aim to protect and improve the health of individuals, families and society in the light of universal, cultural values ​​and science, who have professional autonomy, who can take part in education, management and physiotherapy research, who will contribute to scientific developments and who are researchers and entrepreneurs who have a say in the field of physiotherapy and rehabilitation in the  world  .
