Data Science (English) (Thesis)

The language of instruction for the Data Science Thesis (English) Master's Program, which will start accepting students in the Fall semester of the 2023-2024 academic year, is English. This program will meet current needs and demands, and will integrate theory with research and sectoral-based application training. It will offer applied and theoretical courses aimed at training experts in the field of data science. At the end of the training, students who meet the conditions specified in the Istinye University Graduate Education and Training Regulation and successfully complete their credited courses and thesis are awarded a Data Science Thesis Master's diploma. 

Purpose of the Program

For the last 15 years, the world's most important value has been data, and its most important skill is to process/make sense of data and produce information and knowledge from it. However, when we look at statistics around the world, we see that there is a significant bottleneck in terms of human resources in this skill of processing data. In addition to this bottleneck in producing value from data, project-based, hardware and legal processes in data management, and data-based errors in artificial intelligence that learns from data also lead to critical managerial errors in businesses. This reveals that individuals who are technically strong, as well as individuals who have the ability to integrate data into management and business processes, have an important role. The Data Science Master's Program is designed primarily for individuals who are interested in this field, want to improve themselves in terms of technique and knowledge, and see this field as an academic field in addition to experiencing it with sectoral applications.
