Overview
General Information
Purpose of the Section
Computer Engineering is a department where theoretical and practical education and training is provided on computer hardware and software systems and applications, which are indispensable for the information age. The department, which offers courses such as basic mathematics courses, computer hardware and software system analysis, and internet applications, produces graduates who can work in public and private sectors, in companies that use, design, develop computer systems in the industry, and market these systems. To train students who can theoretically analyze, evaluate, and interpret the subjects within the field of Computer Science, who can effectively apply scientific research methods and information technology applications in their studies, who can conduct sufficient and competent studies in line with the theoretical knowledge they have acquired in the field of Computer Science, and who can develop applications for usable real-world problems with the studies they conduct. To provide our society with individuals who can express their ideas in at least one foreign language in written and oral form, who are successful in problem solving, time management, resource management, work discipline, and communication skills, who are competent to work individually, and who have developed the ability to work in a team and take responsibility. The aim is to graduate graduates who have a questioning attitude based on scientific thinking by following scientific journals and publications, who have adopted the behaviors of understanding and evaluating social events and participating within the framework of universal values, who have adopted the requirements of the philosophy of lifelong learning, who have a high level of awareness and civil courage. Program Educational Objectives (PEH/PEO) According to the mission of the Computer Engineering program, the following program educational objectives are the career and professional successes that our graduates are expected to achieve within a few years of graduation: 1. Gain disciplined reasoning, critical thinking and applied skills to define, analyze and solve problems 2. Communicate effectively, orally and in writing, to express technical knowledge, ideas and suggestions. 3. Consider the professional, ethical and social responsibilities of engineering technology applications 4. Act effectively, think independently and work collaboratively in a team environment in a membership or leadership role. 5. Actively participates in professional development, including continuous self-improvement and lifelong learning.
Department Goal
The aim of Computer Engineering, where rapidly advancing technology and developments in the field of information technologies are closely followed, is to train students with the knowledge and equipment to adapt to developments in this field after graduation.
Graduates who have acquired the ability to follow rapidly developing computer technology, think analytically and produce solutions can successfully ensure the continuity of existing systems in the business world. At the same time, our graduates who have the ability and knowledge to produce new projects also create technologies that will shape the future.
Computer Engineering Department graduates also complete their foreign language education. Our graduates, who gain the ability to express themselves in written and verbal form in at least one foreign language, have the self-confidence, knowledge, work discipline and communication skills that reveal their talents.
